Default Hot footwell

I have noticed my '08 C70 D3 gets very hot in the centre console, steering column and footwell area over about 200 miles. At the end of this time it is very hot and the A/C is going bonkers to cool the car down. Everything else seems fine, car runs fine and no warning lights. Is this coming from the exhaust? I can't see anything else to explain it.

We had this happen last year and I brought it in to the dealership and they couldn't replicate the issue. I was hot as hell though in the times it did happen. Hasn't happened since that I have noticed.

The mechanic did say that he had come across something similar before and in that case it turned out to be related to the catalytic converter (I think) and combustible gases combusting where they shouldn't...something like that anyway. Sounded a bit scarey. He did confirm that that was not the case with ours.

Please let us know if you get to the bottom of it....
