Question

I have 2012 model also. Running on Continental cross contact which have done 18000 miles. The outer edge of the n/s font tyre is now down to min depth but rest of tyre still has 3/4mm left. O/s is steady at 4mm across.
Will have to replace both tyres as unwise to do just one, problem being it is false economy as one tyre still has life left in it. Still safety is more important, a shame car has silly temp spare wheel as this cant be used in equation. Both back tyres still have 5mm depth. Problem now is what tyres to fit.

If you have that sort of wear you have a tracking problem, regardless of what your dealer says, I am running a set of 30K miles+ Nokians and have no such problems, 4 wheel alignment is a must, and at £50 - £85 depending where you get it done, it so worth while, when you consider the cost of a corner of rubber.

Hope it helps

I've been meaning to post about my recent purchase of a couple of " Pirelli SCORPION VERDE All-Season 235/60 R18 107V XL , ECOIMPACT RBL (AS)" (copied from my invoice from mytyres.co.uk) to replace the borderline MOT failures on the rear. I'm on holiday just now so can't check the side wall.

Any way the thing I wanted to mention was the noise from them. Once I get to 40mph, there's quite a noticable drone. Now as someone mentioned, this could just be I'm comparing them to the well worn Conti's UHPs , and any new tyre would sound as bad. But I'm sure I've replaced the rears before (with new Conti's) and wasn't so aware of the noise.

I bought these Pirellis to avoid the winter/summer switch, but we'll see how long I can put up with the noise!
