Default Help: Limp Home Mode

Hi I'm new here

Had my 2.0D SE S40 '55 plate for a year now.
Been pretty faultless till now. Any help would be appreciated:

Frequently drops into limp home mode, 2900 rev limit, no turbo.
Drives fine otherwise

Any clues where I can start to look? moneys tight as it is with everyone, so anything I can do/check myself would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You can get a code reader, this would allow you to read codes and indicate where your problem is.

What are your symptoms of when the car goes in to limp mode, what are you doing, speed, gear, type of road etc...

Limp can be caused by too many things to be able to point in the right direction. If you have no other symptoms normally and say only when you floor the car then chances it is either pipe related or fuel filter related.

Yeah, if thought of getting one of those for my Android phone. It sometimes starts when you start the car, I took it for a short run last night and have it a bit of welly and it was fine. Can sometimes come in even when you take it easy

Just wondered if it was normal to have no error messages about the turbo or dpf with the symptoms I'm getting. Also found a good bit of oil/diesel on the right side of the Y on the throttle body, is that normal?

I think most throttle bodies leak oil. I get limp mode on mine if I welly it, I put it down to my throttle body(also Y shaped) one of my butterfly flaps has failed. I also have a split in a boost pipe. I got no messages or codes.
