Fairy nuff. Didn't know about "ECM" codes - as you say the OP hasn't stated the prefix....

It was a different garage I used to get the codes for me. So essentially, I'm no further forward than I was before lol.
Anybody got any advice that could help me? Other than paying Volvo £98 + vat just to plug it in to their computer.
I did read some info that the MAF sensor would cause me loss of power but I haven't experienced this. Just a very intermittent starting problem, which hasn't occurred for 3 weeks, and a constant engine management light that re appeared after 20 mins of it being cleared.

The first thing I would check is the plug connection on the MAF sensor, have a look for corrosion / dirt on it and, if necessary, clean with electrical cleaner, apply some contact grease or vasaline.

I that does not work a new MAF sensor can be bought for around £130, you need to look for the 10 digit Bosch part no. on the existing unit, and then buy a genuine Bosch unit form a reputable source, ask on here if you buy online or find a local Bosch agent.

The starting problem is likely to be the antenna ring identified earlier in the thread.

Investing in a cheap OBDII code reader like this:

I would think worthwhile.
