The cars aeral lead goes through the Pure unit via the volvo adapter lead,
the DAB/USB/i-Pod/AUX signal is inserted on the aerial wire as a FM station ..

That's great, thanks for the input Clan! Will have to contact my local volvo about it! Do you have this fitted? Don't suppose u have an image of the installed unit? Wondering what the additional display would look like fitted.

I spent a lot of time researching the best DAB for me about 18 months ago and came up with this unit , i have had it for about a year now and it works great . Then 6 months ago volvo came up with the same thoughts and offered it through their dealers .. great minds think alike !

And here's my installation. I'm very happy with it, much better sound quality than the standard High Performance system that I have in my car.

So it's an FM transmitter then. I'll stick with USB and savour all the frequencies above 15kHz which get thrown away by the FM modulator.

No its not a wireless transmitter as such , its directly wired into the aerial lead and very acceptable quality .
This is only the case if you do not have the AUX socket , otherwise the sound goes in that way .
I wouldnt mind betting you cant hear anything over 10 khz anyway

Whatever chap, just trying to be helpful and offer an alternative, seems you want an argument. Over and out.

ehh? no i'm the least argumentative person youd know .. sometimes meanings and expressions come over the wrong way on typed forums . A lot of people cant hear 10 khz .. and the injected FM signal is excellent quality .
