Default never had a diesel

Help me please about diesels.
I have had many volvo petrol ones and now looking to purchase a 2009 c70 2.0d sport 130hp auto.
I now have a 2004 v70 170 auto, and may now change my wives 2003 c70 2.0i auto.
Is this a good diesel idea?
Thanks
Jonathan

A lot will depend on your trip length, Diesel Particulate Filters need regular long journeys to clean themselves.

I thought not all engines needed cleaning filters than others?

They don't but as you're looking to buy relatively new, all the diesels will have these filters.
You'd need to be looking at cars earlier than 2006 (approximately) if you want to avoid particulate filters.
