Default passenger speaker issues :(

Hi guys, I have a 2003 s60 2.0 T.Hopefully somebody here may be able to help ?!All of a sudden the entire left hand speakers have ceased to work ( door speakers an rear) only the passenger side , up close the speakers have power, as the speakers have what I'd possibly describe as a static hiss , just no radio/cd , has anyone else had this happen ? if so what's remedy , help please!!!
And any info would be appreciated, many thanks in advance

Which head unit (radio) do you have? Is it the HU-403, HU-603 or HU-803?

If it's the HU-803 then this has an amplifier under the passenger seat which has two connectors going into it: the low-level signal from the head unit and then the amplified output. It could be that the input cable has fallen out or come loose? Easy first step to check. You'll probably be best to get at the amplifier by moving the drivers seat as far forward as it goes then looking in from the rear passenger seat.
