Default Broken bleed valve

Drats. Just replaced the discs on my Amazon (removed the calipers). Whilst bleeding the brakes I was starting on the last corner when the bleed valve in the front nearside sheared off! Rusted in solid. I guess I can drill it out, carefully run a tap into the thread to clean it out and put in a new valve. Very annoying.

Does anyone know what thread it is? Single circuit with Girling calipers. I have a full set of UNF taps.

I hope you have better luck than I did. I tried all of the usual tricks and nothing worked. I ended up having to buy a new caliper.

How about just ordering a bleed valve and determining from that? Just go to the hardware store and try to find a nut that fits...You may as well order a spare or two while you're at it. They're cheap and you'll probably need one again anyway.

Done it. Found an old bleed valve in the bottom of my junk box. The thread is 3/8in UNF.

Managed to carefully drill out the old valve, cleaned up the thread and put in the new(ish) bleed valve. Bingo!
