My expected date on MyVolvo has been stuck at 6th-17th October for some time now.

I called my dealer this morning who said that in their experience cars are arriving 2-3 weeks ahead of the dates on MyVolvo.

Here's hoping to a Sept delivery!

I ordered on 14th June.

Interesting - my date on myvolvo seems to move forward a week and then a few days later move back to it's original date. I think it's now done this 3 times over the last 2 weeks. It's currently on one of it's coming early phases and is showing as 6th to 17th of October. I only ordered a few weeks ago but my dealer managed to amend a current order which is why I guess I was only quoted around 6 to 8 weeks. I believe the dealer is expecting the car very early October but has said it may actually arrive this month.

Similar for me. It's on "early" at the moment (29 Sep to 10 Oct) but has mostly been on "later" (6th to 17th Oct). I ordered at the end of May and had expectation set of an Oct delivery.

Here's hoping!

Recently on a journey, I passed one of these "new car graveyards" just outside of Hull - the ones where thousands of new cars are dumped unsold to keep production levels at the plant ?

Seems ironic to me to see you guys waiting MONTHS for a new car to be delivered, dates moving backwards and forwards all the time... surely it would make sense to churn out few less low spec vehicles nobody wants and concentrate on getting you the car you ordered in a much better timescale ?

Perhaps I should send my suggestion to the customer service department so they have something else to ignore lol

I bet none of those were XC60's...

When I was looking at new, it was minimum 8 weeks for a S60, V60 or XC60 - all come straight from the factory, no time to be left anywhere!

Point remains tho - they must still be wasting production time on cars that no-one actually wants - build ordered cars before "something to make the figures look good" ones....

It was my understanding that Volvo (certainly on the XC60) only produce cars to a definite order. That being either a genuine customer order or a dealer pre order. I'm sure I remember reading that every car was built to the required / custom specification (customer or dealer) and that the cars come direct from the plant to the supplying dealer without being stored. I'm not saying that there won't be any available cars in the supply chain but it's my understanding they will be with dealers already having being supplied against a dealer specified order / specification. I guess this approach only works when demand exceeds supply as then there is then no need to build and store.
