But if I buy one of these I'll have to buy a garage, lots of specialist tools, some swarfega, latex gloves, a box of plasters & some tissues for when I get stuck & start crying.

Wink self diagnosis !

Yes but you will be crying because the car does not work, you know what is wrong with it, and it needs expensive specialist attention, not because you don't know what is wrong and feel inadequate.
To the casual observer the tears look the same, but inwardly you will feel superior and more able to come to terms with your feelings.

Hello there, just had a read of your post re the Diesel Haynes Manual - the index/contents.

I've got a petrol model, with a few issues...and was wondering if these would be the same across the models.

1 - My bonnet is stuck, won't give the final release on the passenger side.

2 - The centre console cup holder flap doesn't close.

3 - I want to remove all the interior wood trim and cover it in brushed stainless effect vinyl. Does it show how to remove these parts?

Thanks in advance.

I would be interested to hear if the manual mentions anything about changing the auto box transmission oil as part of a service procedure?

The only difference between yours and the diesel models is the engine and fuel parts the rest would be shown.
It does miss some bits that are different between the early and later models though.
