Default Throttle pedal Sticky/notchy?

Hi everyone!

Need help with an issue that recently has become an irritation! My pedal (only when engine is on) has a sticky/notchy feeling when you press it! This is not present when the engine is off!

It's improved when the car heats up, but it's still there once up to temp! I was wondering if this could be linked to cruise control which I used for a while few weeks ago and it's caused some of the sticky feeling now present?

That was a guess, but any help appreciated!

If it's not a Diesel - I would suspect the butterfly valve on the throttle would be sticking.

If it is a diesel then sorry I'm stumped as I believe it's digital!

Petrol 1.8. If it is the butterfly valve, how would I go about rectifying the issue?

It's a simple enough job, On the bottom right corner of the car a plastic cover held on by a torx bolt. Take it off and you'll see the valve, Just try moving it and seeing if it seems to work properly. Operate it by hand while the car is running is too see if it occurs at that point as well. Then it's just a couple bolts to take off and clean it if there's any visible junk otherwise just replace it.

Check the throttle body. If it is dirty, the flap may be sticking a bit. A good a clean should cure it
