Default Condensation in laser/raindetector (V60)

I was driving along the other day when up pops a message saying the rain detector was obscured (or similar words) telling me to read the handbook. I thought at the time this was an anomaly caused by me driving into the sun which was low in the sky. It was a dry day and not too cold.

However, when I got out later I noticed that there was condensation behind the windscreen in what I think is hole where the laser-pedestrian detection sensor is mounted, behind the rear view mirror. The rain detector being in the same module but smaller and to the passenger side of the vehicle.

I was surprised that moisture had been trapped in there as I would expect there so be some air circulation in and out of that instrument package as it is very difficult to make sealed optics from my experience at work.

I decided to drive home with the A/C on, also turning the front screen heater on regularly. That seems to have dried things out for now, however this seems a bit of a design fault to me. Anyone else had this problem?

No this isnt normaly a problem , never heard of it before , there is a heater to heat the windscreen in that area to get rid of any mist , but if it fails you would get a message up to warn you . I would guess the windscreen is leaking at the top edge somewhere above the sensors ... can you take the covers off and put some tisue paper at the top and see if it gets damp when it rains?
