Running In Before Towing

XC60 D5 due mid December .... how many miles do Volvo recommend before towing?

Weather permitting we'd like to be away with the caravan between Christmas and New Year.

My last few new cars have been VAG group who recommended 500 miles before towing.

Think the recommendation is 1000 miles but it is the documentation somewhere

Thought it was 1000kms. But the preceding Volvo had to tow before that as we were changing caravans and there seemed no detriment. With the current XC60 I did do the suggested distance before towing.

XC70 handbook states 1000km. Just made it with mine before I towed my van last week.

Can tell you an XC70 D4(181) AWD with load compensating suspension tows very nicely. Barely noticed 1400Kg van on back.
