Default Is GardX paint guard worth £400?

We've just ordered our first new Volvo, a V40, colour Inscription Electric Silver (my wife's choice) with engine T5 (my choice).
Our local dealer. Lookers, has been extolling the vitures of GardX. As we plan to keep the car for quite few years, has anyone had any experience with this paint protection? Is it as good as the dealer claims?

Very grateful for any advice on this matter.

I would say yes and no, I have about 3 boxs of the complete system in my garage include the scotch gaurd for the interior, the protection itself costs about £30-60! And will last about 1 year at best with a wax protection over it.

Paint protection is deffinetly worth it long term, just probably not by your dealer. A local valater-detailer will do it for half the price or less and probably use a better or equal product and dare I say it do a better job.

I apply a paint sealant myself, and then use a wax over the top I try to do this every 3 months and it usually takes me 4-6 hours to do the complete car, then in between just wash it.

As Marc01 says-no.
Huge commission earner for the dealer, not money well spent for you.
General consensus is to find a good local detailer to do the job.

Total waste of money, just buy some decent polish, like autoglym, I used to work for a main dealer, the sales guys would literally be jumping in the air and whooping every time another sucker went for the Gardx etc, purely profit driven and it will always be paid for somewhere in the deal....
