Default V40 Broken headlight adjuster

I have a black bezel headlight with a broken left to right adjuster clip. its a black piece of plastic that connects the inner bezel reflector to the adjustment screw. its snapped half way across. Must be a common fault.

anyone know a fix or a way of getting a replacement.

I have my light apart already and have hit a dead end

Thanks

I think I will buy a few. Where do you get them? are the replacements better and stronger? happened very easily. I just fitted a set of Xenon lights same as on your guide and managed to snap it replacing a bulb and one of my old lights is the same, same side too.

My phase 1 has a snapped adjuster, it's sheared clean off the light, if you push it or pull it the whole reflector moves, it's currently held in place with silicone sealant.

Nope, no better and no stronger - They are just very fragile. Bit of poor design work by Volvo there.

There was a guy on eBay who sells a replacement that's better quality than the Volvo original but I can't find the listing. Gatos knows who it was, hopefully he'll post the link.

That is poor design. Reminds me of the Jaguar X-Type lights they suffer with the same issue.

I tried a temporary repair for now. I took my front bumper off to fit these lights (and a splitter at the same time) and don't want to refit it until the lights are on. Waiting on my temp fix to dry so could be a late one or it might be bus to work tomorrow

so is it only a Volvo dealer I can get this part at?

would really rather a more reliable fix than getting the same part again, find a company with a decent 3d printer and im sure we got a more reliable part replacement.
Even do a group buy?

Would rather not have to replace them every few months when they break after a simple bulb replacement.

Default had same problem

mine broke on my previous phase 2.
tried araldite type repair, that didnt work.

lens was broke so bought whole new headlight off ebay. which got seriously delayed in the post just when needed for MOT.

very kindly mot bloke wedged the broken one in position enough to get an mot while waiting for new one to arrive. (amazed he did that)

would be interested to hear where to get replacement adjuster from as sure will need one in the future on new v40
