On the side of the block above the fuel pump you'll find some numbers. 4968 is cast into the block and shows that it's a B18. (4969 is B20) to the right side of that are two machined pads, maybe painted over, if so clean off the paint. The pad next to the 4968 will have a 2 digit number, in your case it should be between 02 and 41. Amazons have a set of numbers and the P1800 have a set between these so you can check which car the block started out in. This set denotes either B18A or B18D. Early B18D shared the A cam with the B18A but got a higher compression. Later B18D (1966) did get the little known B cam for an extra 5bhp. B18B (1967) got the C cam and the twin downpipe exhaust for a 20bhp boost.
