Default V70 vs S60 front bumper

Evening All,

Does anyone know if they are interchangeable?

I know the S60 grille won't fit a V70 and Vice Versa but I would have thought the bumper would fit.

However, I was in a breakers yard today and spotted an S60 bumper for sale, complete with all fittings such as grille, fogs etc. As I need a new bumper I figured that it would be as good as any but the breaker said that it won't fit a V70! I would have thought that in order to keep manufacturing costs down, Volvo would have designed the S60 and V70 to have been more or less identical under the basic plastic trim pieces so don't understand why the bumper wouldn't fit.

Does anyone have any experience of this? I'm not trying to prove him wrong, nor am I desperate to for a S60 bumper, I'm now just curious as to why it wouldn't fit.

Although they're based on the same P2 platform, the fact that Haynes does separate manuals suggest there's quite a lot of subtle differences, fittings wise so the bumper difference (if true) wouldn't surprise me.
Which breakers were you at? I need some bits.

These guys

They're up in Preston.

What bits do you need?

I'm up that way quite often so if there's stuff you need I'd be more than happy to pick it up for you.

-Nearside front fog light assembly pre facelift, so the round type.

-D5 black engine cover with all the mounting lug holes still intact. My current one rattles and makes it sound unreliable, haha.

-Light grey boot carpet/floor.

-Offside rear door speaker cover. Mine has a chip out of it after closing the door against a wine bottle. Luckily the wine survived.

That would be great if you could look out for them. Thank you.

That's a good point actually - I didn't think of that. Having said that - my Haynes book of BullPoo covers the S80 too - I would have thought combining the 70 and 60 would have made much more sense!

Also, thinking about it further, the R bumper will fit both the 60 and the 70 cars so are these bumpers manufactured with universal lugs or are the R cars slightly different under the skin too?
