Exclamation Engine System Service Required

I have a 2007 XC90 D5 manual. Message Engine System Service Required popped up yesterday. The car was performing fine although this was in town which is the majority of its use these days. Took it to Halfords Autocentre today who completed a full diagnostic test. They found a bulb fault, (parking light) and oil level sensor fault. They replaced the bulb ran the test again and nothing was found and the message has gone. I was told on pick up the faulty bulb would have triggered the error message although I thought this was an Engine Management fault? I also believed any bulb failure would be reported as such on the DIM.
Should I be relieved there are no issues or concerned the fault message has gone but the cause still present? The car has a warranty which runs out 28th Feb, any costly ECU repairs I would like to be present now and repaired while I have cover.

Did they bother to check oil level,

If its any higher than 3/4 up dipstick when engines warm, its to high and needs some draining out

Warm engine to running temp say your drive home from work, leave to stand for 5 minutes and check oil level, if theres not at least one set of X's showing on dipstick oil levels to high,

I had exactly same message. However, it disappeared by the next day. Spoke to a few Volvo owners who said they also had same thing and it then disappeared. Been running on BP ultimate since it happened in case there was a bit of dirt in the fuel system.

Thanks for advice, I have checked the oil level, its now showing nearly full showing XX and then the full line as you suggest. This was full before going back to Halfords, I'm guessing Halfords have drained a bit out - seems all good now so this must have been issue. Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't aware the oil level had to be just lower than the "full" mark.
