I bought it by the few pictures on the ad and had it transported down to me. It has been nick named "Rusty" as it is pretty rough. The seats are Vynil and sadly the car has been home to dogs for most of its life and none of the windows operate due to rotten mechanisms.
I hope to get it done, but sadly not in the original time frame of "ready for this Spring" that I had hoped for!

Glad the fan is working well, its the original unit from the white 145 pictured above!

ah that is quite rusty, I have to admit.....I usually laugh rust off as mine's quite bad in places too. That's a shame the seats aren't leather, I figured it was one of the special edition ones with that option. I'm hoping to go to welding night-school some time this year - do you do your own?

anyway - back to our Italian friend's thread!! cheers

Hi Carlo - sorry I couldn't reply earlier but computer death again..... Back now to ask - which 140 are you going to use to attend the Southern BKV/140-164 meet at Popham this year? You are not alone with the two-car dilemma - me with a pair of 164s and Tim with a pair of 140s.

Will look closely at the pics of your new toy now I'm back on.

PM sent so as not to take this thread too far off track for the original poster.
I think I have done too much of that already! Sorry!

Hi Guys,

unfortunately I was not able to check the forum in the last week.

I read now the last posts.

Again thanks to you all for your precious help and advice.

I will sure look for you again once I'll find another interesting car for sale.

In EU or here in Israel where I moved in the last years for work reasons.

Hi Coaster, well I would never choose an automatic but at the time this was the only 144 in my budget, so just went for it. Of course, I’d prefer a manual with overdrive and who knows what the future will bring. Saying that, so far so good – touch wood it’s behaved like it should for the 3 years I’ve had it, at least I think it has. It’s not particularly smooth from 1st to 2nd but the step-up and drop down feels right to me. A forth gear would be great – and over 70 it’s a bit overbearing on the ears. I’ve been told that the BW35 is a good match to the B20 though I haven’t ever bothered working out the mpg as it would be depressing. I check the fluid now and again, though I’ve never had the need to top up or adjust anything. One thing, if you need to do a water-pump change, and don’t fancy squeezing past the radiator, getting the oil(fluid) cooler pipes off the bottom of the radiator is a bastard, so I left in place and squeezed past the radiator!!
All the best and hope that helped.
