"Alarm!" message ('nuclear mishap'?)
Well, it's quiet on the work front this morning, and I'm on a long journey on Monday, so I thought that I'd read the section in the manual about the CD mutichanger (which I have previously ignored), and reading further at the specifications page I came across this:
Quote:
... mind you, the car is eleven years old, so I reckon the warning system is defunct by now but living nearish to Sizewell B, it may come in handy one day if there is ever a 'nuclear mishap'

You should ask
Hello, There's a dead, analog based On Star system in our 2005 Saab 9-5. In 2007 On Star went to a digitally supported system.
Contact Volvo and see if the unit in your car is still operating. You have Sizewell B. We have Storm King. Kira |

I sure do hope that I'd hear about a Sizewell B nuclear 'mishap' from another source before my car tells me about it

I wonder if it's always scanning for RDS broadcasts with PTY 31 - if any are found then they are tuned in, with the "Alarm!" message displayed...
