Default TFT Crystal Display color mode

what does the color mode do and how do you use it? The theme mode is easy enough.

It's just to alter the contrast or shade , it will make the colours less vibrant , try it see what you prefer best ..

ok - looking at this further - YES there is a 'contrast mode' which does do what you say but THERE IS ALSO a 'color mode' button which I can't figure out how to use it.

I have seen screen shots showing a bright blue screen.

colour mode button ? you mean a button you press or a menu button? are you aware that there are 3 completely different styles of gauges you can choose ?

When you click on 'contrast mode' it somehow comes up with a separate option 'color mode' I think this is just before the 'oil' on the wheel ie past themes then contrast mode.

reading elsewhere on the forum doesn't look like others can get to work either.

going on from this I had hoped that the ambiance lighting would change the instrument luster above the gear leaver and the gear lever from white to the colour selected but it doesn't seem to. Does this change or remain white?

Gary contrast mode changes to colour mode when you select it and vice versa, colour mode simply means the colours will be brighter and contrast mutes the colours and highlights the whites.
Then there are the 3 themes each with their unique colour, it would of been nice to customise the theme colour as I prefer the performance display just not the red. Pictures can be misleading as I believe the theme colours have been changed over the years.

Ambient lighting is only the LED in the roof, depending on trim level there may also be one in the back only these change colour, all other lighting remains white but agree it would of been nice to change the theatre lighting and instrument lighting colours also.

Colour mode is really a 2 position switch. High colour and low colour. Same with Contrast mode. High contrast and low contrast. Bit of a swizz really. With modern tec you'd expect something a bit more sophisticated. I've found the analogue dial to be more adjustable to my taste than the digital one. (have cars with both types)
