Default will 850 wheels fit

Hi - I've got a 1970 144 (auto if it makes any difference)

I need 4 new tyres but I have a set of 850 15" alloys with good tyres - and id rather replace the steel wheels/hub caps altogether

I know the easiest thing to do is to put one of the 850 alloys on and physically see if it fits!!

But.....does anyone know if they will fit (eg is the PCD the same, are spacers required etc)

Thanks

Kevin

Default Not really

Same PCD but offset all wrong. Have seen it done but looks a bit weird I reckon. Big spacers needed? I use 940 wheels on a 144 and a 164E - superb.

actually, the offset is exactly the same for the 850s: 43mm BUT the rims are wider. i drove a 71 144 650km across iceland with 850 steel rims when i bought it but the alloys wouldn't fit as the wheel interferes with the top arm (from memory)

Default Wheel.

I have inherited a '94 940. The spare wheel is wrong. I've bought a 700/900 series wheel from EBay to replace it. I'm sure it's from a 140/164. It looks right and is in good condition. Would you like it?
