  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Question Alarm going off frequently

C30 Alarm goes off frequently for no apparent reason any suggested causes?

you haven't let any devices with WIFI in the car have you? such as an iPod, anything that connects to wireless network sets off the internal sensors all the time, it's a common fault, try putting the alarm in to reduced mode (Key in pos2, press button for alarm on the roof, turn to pos0 and take out) see if that makes any difference, if so then it's one of the parts it turns off, ie Internal sensors, tilt sensors ect ect.

Other possibilities are a fly in the car (problem only lasts about a day before they either die or escape) or a spider living in the volumetric alarm sensor area (can last for weeks).

I've had the latter twice in the S40 and it's infuriating. I had to wait until the wee blighter made an appearance on the windscreen before hastily removing the wee beastie.
