C30 General : - Which c30 is the right one? - Page 2

I have a D5 Geartronic. I haven't driven any other versions so can't compare. It is noisy when accelerating but OK when cruising. Plenty of go when you need it. I only wanted an auto so very pleased. Fuel consumption is about 35 around town, 50 at 50 and 45 on a fast motorway run. No complaints.

She does about 50 miles a day for work and then just whatever else apart from that which was why we were thinking diesel over the 1.4 petrol fiesta thirst machine she has now.

I have the 2.4 D5 s60 pre-DPF model and it gets 50 to the gallon and is never in the garage as a 13 year old car. I had 2 mondeos before the 2.0 tddi and 2.2 ST tdci and they were a hassle and a lot fresher with less miles than the S60. And if its an HDI psa engine then I don't trust it as far as I can throw it. Know three people who have had to get shot of their HDI's because of constant woes with absolutely everything! I still hear reports of how great the HDI is (word of mouth), but I haven't heard any success stories.

Is there anything similar to the c30 (V40 etc) that started using the volvo engines earlier on? Its all about trying to get a hot hatch volvo engine under 6K
