Default Crank/Cam sensors

Further to my saga of our non starting 2007 C30 2L diesel (see other posts)
I note that the topic of Crankshaft and camshaft sensors giving problems comes up fairly often so I removed the crank sensor and was surprised to find no resistance readings, ie infinity, between any of the 3 pins. I believe this to be a hall effect sensor and was expecting a reading of a few hundred ohms. So I checked the cam sensor which seems the same design and again infinity

Does Vida (a working one !) have any information on these 2 sensors?

It's a good job that there's no panic to get it sorted as we have bought its replacement - we are both now too old and creaky to get in and out of the C30. I just need to get it running to sell it on rather than break it.
