Red face Dear Ron and Capt Jack

Yes, we live in a beautiful place. A lot like what Hawaii used to look like many years ago. We moved here 1 year ago from Seattle, WA.
Free room and board and beer if you come and help us with our car! We are serious, there is no one here to help!

Regards,
Marianne and Mitch

Thanks for the offer Marianne and Mitch.

I did run this past Mrs Jack but unfortunately she did come up with 101 compelling reasons for me not travelling to Rincon. Most of them had to do with pending and unfinished gardening, car repair and house jobs a little closer to home!

But thanks anyway!

As per my earlier post, the Volvo 140 Haynes manual does cover the D-Jet system. I've now found my copy and would be happy to photocopy the relevant section and send it to you by email attachment, or Dropbox etc.

If you would like me to do this please let me know via this thread, and then I will send you a PM with my personal email address. If you have less than 30 posts then you won't be able to send a PM to me, but once we've established contact by email we can communicate that way.

Cheers

Jack

Wink Dear Jack

If it's not too much trouble and not such a huge file, that would be awesome. dropbox works too.
We are sorry that Mrs. Jack said you had too many things to do. Anyway you are very kind. My email is mariannelyle@gmail.com

Marianne

Wink To Captain Jack!

Hello,
Its Marianne and Mitch from Puerto Rico. We finally have her running really good. We did take out the fuel injection system and added dual carbs. Runs like a top! You can take a look at some photos that i added to our album.

Then we found a very reasonably priced company to paint our car. They took all the rust out and added metal instead of bondo. I saw a brochure of a two tone look and loved it. So we painted her the original color at the bottom and added a beautiful volvo white pearl color on top. I have added photos to our name. so please take a look.
Thank you for all your help in the past.

Regards,

Marianne and Mitch

One thing that nobody has talked about is the fuel tank.
I picked up a '63 Amazon once that had set for 5 years without moving. I drained the tank before attempting to start the engine and the most evil, vile stuff came out......It was half black and half red! No amount of flushing would get it clean so I ended up buying a new tank from IPD.

12 years of sitting does bad things to gas tanks and the gas inside.

We took the tank off and had it cleaned. It was vile. Thanks for your response!
