Default Yet another D5 intercooler question......

Ive noticed, after removing the undertray to do an oil and filter change, that the tray was a bit oily and so was the boost pipe that runs under the motor BUT I didnt check wether or not the intercooler was bowing or wet before I replaced the undertray.
I have also noticed a bit of smoke under acceleration too so Im wondering if my intercooler isn't goosed.

Ive had a quick look from under the bonnet and, having looked through the holes in the slam panel, noticed that the top of the cooler is wet with oil too.

My question is should my cars intercooler have the sensor on the passenger side or not? Ive looked and cant see any sort of sensor connected to the intercooler so Im guessing mine doesnt come with that sensor?

Anyone got a picture of the sensor/wiring in situ?
Car is an S60 D5 2002.

Thanks

On a 2002, you'll almost certainly have the MAP sensor on top of the engine so if you need a new intercooler, you'll want the one without the sensor hole.

Yay!
Thats exactly what I needed to know, MAP is on the top of the engine so non sensored intercooler is required.

Big thanks.

Ok, fitted my new intercooler today mostly due to excess smoke from the exhaust and the old one was a proper mess!
Bowed and oily at the top and bowed and twisted at the bottom and the bottom third pretty much coated in oil, no wonder it smoked!

Cars covered 139k so was well over due a new intercooler and now its so much smoother plus boost comes in lower down too.

Its been said a hundred times on here, check your intercooler!!!!
