"Transportation to dealer" - how long now?
According to My Volvo, my car is on the way to the dealer. Now, seeing as it was only apparently built yesterday, that's pretty good going (!)
I asked the dealer if he was still expecting a date of Nov 26th, which is the date given when I ordered, and the reply was "there or thereabouts" which to me isn't really an answer. Does anyone know how long it takes to get here? The My Volvo site pins it down to the first week in December. I could do with knowing as it might coincide with my insurance renewal...and because I want to get my hands on it!

Normally between 2 and 3 weeks is a safe period to assume - it can be quicker if the ship is early and there happens to be a transporter available that is headed for your dealer - but it can be slower if your car is the random sample that is checked.

Thanks - thought as much. Might put the Nov 26th date back a bit, but we'll see!

Mine arrived at the dealer within 24 hours. Must have come straight from the factory and onto the ferry or train. We are close to Dover and Folkestone.
Different models of the 60 class are assembled in different factories though so that may only apply to the XC60. If your model is assembled in Sweden I guess it will take longer to arrive.

Don't take any notice of 'My Volvo' I've had my XC60 for a month now and 'My Volvo' still says 'awaiting collection from dealer.'
It will arrive when it arrives and there is not much you can do about it, except look forward to getting it.

Similar here. Mine went in production and transport all in 24hrs. A few days later is as at the dealers and i collected the car and it was still showing in transportation. Go with the date the dealer gave you for picking up car. It's usually around then or even before.
