Default V50 O/S Door does not lock/unlock

I have a 2004/54 V50 and the offside rear passenger door lock has stopped working. Will not unlock on the remote and I cannot open the door from the inside or by lifting the door pin.
I did manage to strip the inner panel down and discovered that the window motor module was clicking twice when the door lock was not working.
Removed motor and reseated and it started to work again (without the double clicking).
Now it has gone again :-(

Would this be a fault with the electric window module?
Can the modules be replaced without a trip to Volvo?
Will the newer modules from the 2008 face-lifted model fit and work with my car?
Thanks everyone.
Jason.

Wiggle the cable block between the door and the pillar.

Everybody has issues where one of the doors electrics stop functioning properly.

I've been caught out a few times where the drivers door fails to unlock but the rest do.

Wiggle it and it usually sorts it.

Disconnect the door plug and spray with electrical contact cleaner.

It's a difficult one!
It happened to me too and I never really managed to resolve.
I stripped the door down from the inside starting from the top and working down.
Needed to remove the back seat first.
Have you tried opening the front door and wiggling the connector block for the rear door?

Good luck!

as above, the front door A pillar plug can cause problems with the rear doors also, also there can be problems with oxidisation on the terminals for the door modules, these are the window motors.

I took a long look at the offending door once I had if briefly working and I could see that the door pin was "slow" compared to the rest.
I squirted the catch with WD40 and since then, all is well and a couple of months have passed without a glitch!

I tried to remove the door pannel with the door shut but did not like some of the noises it made so just sprayed as much wd40 in to the gaps I had, also tried to follow the door loom back to the other end, found it under the carpet on o/s footwell area, found 4 connectors so wd40 on all of them and it worked

Thanks guys. A quick spray with WD40 on the door lock pins, a wiggle and spray on the front door connector and we are back in business.

I love the internets!
