My 09 185bhp D5 Geartronic is on 150k. Has Polestar for about 8 months / 15k miles now and no issues. As long as you have the ATF changed regularly then it should be fine.

I had it put on my 2009 V70 Auto at 150,000 two years ago and it hasn't caused me any problems.

I did ask the question of the Volvo dealer that did it about putting it on at this mileage and on the basis that I wouldn't be screaming around the streets flat out permanently then it will be ok.

The guy at the dealer is a friend of mine so didn't just say it so that he could sell a Polestar upgrade.

I know there's always the desire to have more, but I have a 185 bhp D5 engine and have all the power I'll ever need, and some more.

Overtaking at pretty much any speed is effortless, and very safe given the quick response of the powerful engine. OK, maybe ice to have a few more horses, but only because they'd be nice to have, as I don't find they're really needed.

Spending several hundreds of my hard earned on this is a very, very low priority for me. But each to their own.

As you say each to their own.
I did it because the torque curve modification made it a more civilised car to drive and made a good tow car excellent. I paid £560 on a promotion, was assured it would have no ill effect on reliability and having had it would be prepared to pay the full retail price if nessesary to have it again.
It does load your insurance by 10%, again a price I am prepared to pay for the benefit I derive.

Paul.
