Default Mifire at operating temp.

Straight after fitting the new cam sensor 4 miles in and the car has developed a misfire.
I have searched around the forum and found a multitude of possible causes.
I don't believe I have any codes stored, but havn't checked yet - it is booked for MOT on Thursday.
I let the car cool down for 2 hours and restarted, the misfire had gone.
Tonight I'm going to check the plugs and leads, and allow it to run longer.
Could it be related to the Cam sensor? What else should I check before diving in too deep please?
Thanks,
Phil
