My V70 has an intermittent fault that sometimes puts up a code and sometimes doesn't. The code says I have a coil fault on cylinder 2. I am going to swap coils with another cylinder and see if the juddering/misfire moves to another cylinder.

Working back from the spark plugs in terms of diagnosis is sound advice. I had a similar problem in my Golf and was going to start messing with O2 sensors etc, but then I decided to go through the correct order of diagnosis, before spending money being a "parts swapper", even though I thought it couldn't be something as simple as a spark plug, turned out there was water in the recess the spark plug was in and it was intermittently shorting out the spark. The fix cost nothing in the end.

Keep us posted.
