Just to say that when I made contact with J and R, they also told me that ABS rings for a 6-spd manual diesel XC70 were unavailable, even though they had many available for XC70 Auto and all other V70 and S60!
Unfortunately, I paid a lot more than this for my replacement ring, but if the other side goes bad, I definitely just get one of these cheap ones. I did pay Volvo money for the drive shaft bolt and the lower ball joint nut. However, I'm delighted by what I spent considering the fact I was facing coughing up for a complete new drive shaft based on what I was told down at the Volvo dealership! I had to heat it up on the gas hob to get it to go on as I didn't feel confident tapping it with a hitting stick.

Massive thanks the the original poster in this thread, Swedish and German, and many thanks to all who have contributed to the info in this thread.
I've got a manual XC70 which had a chipped ABS ring. Was given the run around with the whole "XC70 manuals have completely different reluctor rings to XC70 autos and all V70/S60s, have to get the whole driveshaft at £380". But have bought and fitted a J and R reluctor ring (at £1.75) and has cured the problem. We'll see how long it lasts now!! So many thanks!! Andy |
