Default Misfiring V70 1999 No Codes. Steering wheel shakes at Idle

My V70 1999 started misfiring. At idle the whole car was shaking, sit in it and the steerign wheel would judder at idle like a Fordson Major. Over 3000rpm and it ran sweet. No codes on my generic reader [Scangauge 2]. After a bit of messign about and a plug chnage, it turned out that No.4 coil-pack was iffy. No codes shown, but the CEL would come on, but tehn be off at next switch on. No code stored.

Found it by unbolting lifting each coilpack whilst the engine was running, and seeing how this affected the idle. When it didn't I'd found the kiddy. Quick fix, cost me £10 for a used coilpack on ebay. I've got a new one on order [for £20 delivered] coming htsi week - thus I'm not caught out when the next one goes on my highmiler.

I put this up, question answered, 'cos I hate the usual convuluted threads that peter-out with no solution from the OP, despite posing a question, which must have been answered, only once the OP got the car going again, couldn't be bothered to tell us.

They usually start with "Urgent" or "Help Please", you know who you are....

Anyways, hope this helps someone. Seems that coilpacks don't alwsy throw a code.

Default Part numbers for coil packs 9125601 & 30713416

Part numbers for coil packs 9125601 & 30713416. Good thing about this part is that it gets fitted to everything. See pic and see what I mean. So it comes cheap. Fitting so many cars any breaker that has one or two Volvos will have one. I've jsut found another down at ny breaker on a pram. Got it out of an XC90.

Fifty quid says, if I'd actually asked for a coilpack for somethign as homoerotic and suburban as a XC90 mum-wagon, they'd have blown me a kiss and still want to stripe me for more than a tenner!
