Default 2005 T5 with a vacum leak

I'm looking at a t5 ex police model but it has a vacum leak. What are the costs to fix and how hard is it to do the vacum system ?

Insurance is cheaper for that than a 2002 s60 2.0t go figure lol

Diy, I can't see it costing too much at all.
Where's the leak?

Not sure yet. It might because it has a dump valve and its a 2005 model so you can't fit one on there so that might be the problem. Looking into buying the car and its not local but looks in good nick though

I fitted a dump valve on mine but it leaked and the car wouldnt tickover very well so i took it off. You can buy a alloy bung to go in the place of the dump valve for about £5, ind stick a small bolt in the vac hose that goes in the top of the dump valve

I wouldn't buy it! It's a pre 2004 model which isn't a problem but if it's being advertised as 2005 then something is fishy.
Also these cars do not like dump valves, the air metering etc. goes haywire. Also there is a recirc valve fitted as standard which does the job better.
There are plenty of clean examples about that would be a better buy.

That's interesting. Mine is a 53 plate, registered on 31/10/2003. However, whenever I plug the VIN into VIDA it always comes up as a 2004 vehicle. Is it a case that it was a 2004 model, sold just before the new year started?
