Mines and very early 2006 model as it was Volvo UK car, the button has the symbol of the car with waves coming off it as per previous post. Other than that I'm stumped.
I have now confirmed to my neighbours that I am mad.

Dave, I have a 2005 1.8 V50, I'm not sure how much has changed between the year.
Can you take a piccy and post here so we can see the roof console? Thanks!

"The manual shows a method to disable the alarm internal sensors using a switch located below the radio on the central console, this has a picture of a car on it and the letters 'M' and 'A' below, Tried this by using the method described in the instruction manual and variations of that but doesn't work, alarm still activates when motion inside the car"
Its the Air Recirculation button marked with the M and A is for the climate control on the main panel below the radio.

You were right, I have tried the switch now and it definately disables the internal movement sensors, I didn't want to actually try it earlier out for fear of waking the neighbours if it didn't work. The passenger side airbag is as other posters stated, disabled by inserting the igntion key in a switch at the passenger side. I was looking at the wrong switch when I read the cars manual. Thanks for all ther help, don't have to take car to volvo dealer now.

Hey, ive been looking this thread for answers on my 2009 c30 1.8 MT.
I guess v50 and c30 and models differ a lot but I finally could resolve the dog in the car with movement sensor problem. Mine has an option for "reduced protection" on infotainment before leaving the car, and programming it before on the vehicle settings menu. You have to activate it everytime you leave the dog inside. |
