Default Newbie advice on v60 d5

Hi I'm just about to buy a 62 plate d5 v60. What should I look out for and any tips on these cars. I've gone for the r design lux nav model. On the test drive I thought the brakes were very poor though it's just had new discs and pads on the font and new pads at rear . How long before they firm up a bit. Any advice welcome. I've come from a seat leon with dpf problems which I had deleted and mapped. Is the 215 bhp engine reliable.

I have a 62 plate D5 V60 and love it to bits! Ref the brakes, yeah you need to give it a good 150 miles before they bed in for sure (just replaced a full set on a Fiat 500)
the 2.4 litre engine has alot of torque behind it, and the pickup speed from 4-5-6 gears is very good. Not that I speed alot, but it certainly can cruise at 80 without breaking 2500 revs, and still give you 40 mph, but it can accelerate to 120+ very smoothly and quickly!

the general ride of the car is excellent, and the build quality is 2nd to none! for sure if I replace my V60, it will be for another volvo!

My volvo feels ok but I've come from a seat leon fr 170 remapped to 205 bhp which felt much faster. If my dpf goes wrong I e seen good remaps for the v60 tho I hope I won't need one.

It wouldn't surprise me if there's 1-200kg difference between the two cars and if that's the case, you're going to notice it.
It's like having a couple of extra adults in the car.
