Had it on eBay a couple of weeks ago and it only hit 1300 quid.. Just ridiculous. I'd consider it a good and worthy alternative to a similar aged merc or audi etc. I guess volvo of this era don't hold the same residual values as those German marque's though.
If it doesn't sell for a sensible price I'd rather part ex or give it away to a family member.

Case proven, I'd say. It's worth more to you than others, which happens.

If its a decent car, low hassle, low bills, and worth very little, why sell at all ? Just keep it, wont be worth much less in a year or two

Not really.
I paid £1600 for mine 4 years ago when it was 10 years old so you wanting £1900 for an 11 year old car is probably a little optimistic.
We know that if looked after, they're great cars that will run forever but buyers don't always see that.

£1300 is probably harsh though.

SOLD! To me, today

Happy with the car, drives very nicely, and won't take much to get it very nice indeed! Driving it back up to Cumbria tomorrow so will get a good chance to settle into my new comfy seat.

What's more it does seem to be averaging 50-60mpg quite happily! It got 59.8 on the 50 or so mile run back into East London this morning, without really trying, and with the climate control on.

Thanks, Mark!

Measured or indicated mpg? The two are sometimes very different on this gen (as in mine shows in excess of 60 mpg which translates to just over 50 measured)

I'll know once I've had a full tank through it, how well it matches up.

Having a nice big number on the dash gives a warm fuzzy feeling anyway, even without the heated seat on!

Be interesting to see - mine's the biggest mpg liar I've ever owned!

My 02 S60 manual tells lies.

My 55 V70 Auto is much more accurate - still a little high but 3 mpg not 10!

As you guys reckoned it's quite a liar!

At the end of my first full tank the car claimed 50.50mpg average.

Hand calcs told me it was nearer 39.5...

Had a couple of mountain bikes on the roof for a bit of that, but it's a bit disappointing that the D5 can't really match the old tdi for economy.
