"Book time for service" indication
As above, keep getting this displayed every time I start the engine, I'm assuming it's one of those variable mileage service indicators. It will disappear if I press the "Read" button on the end of the indicator stalk, but does a dealer have to reset it to stop it coming on?

It's not variable interval it's fixed. It is basically telling you your car is due a service. On mine "Book time for service" appears about 1,000 miles or 1 month prior to a service being due. That message turns to "Service Overdue" if you don't service it within the service time-frame or mileage.
If can be reset by doing the following: 1. Press and hold trip odometer reset button 2. Turn ignition key to run position II 3. Wait 30 seconds or until the service light begins blinking 4. Release Trip Odometer button 5. Turn ignition to off position Iain
