Default Service required

Hi all! I don't mean to be a ****, but i have searched the forums already...

I had a service a few hundred miles ago on my 02 S60 D5. The computer is now displaying service required. Is there a way i can reset it? i have tried holding the odometer/trip milage counter thing down, switching ignition to position 2, holding for 10 seconds, then i get "045" on the computer, so i release... doesnt do anything. if i press the button again, doesnt do anything.

Does anyone have any ideas how to stop te message coming up?

thanks in advance!

Gareth,

It's a sticky in the S60 Technical Forum

http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=28858

If you have tried the correct procedure for your year of car then I guess that a trip to the Stealers is in order.

Easy does it m8, the moderators generally do *not* like bad language on here....

It's been a while since I had my S60 but I think the service required notification can come up if there is a problem detected in the emissions system or the transmission. Your stealer will be able to tell you exactly just from the message if they just forgot to reset the service reminder or if it needs investigating.

If they did just forget to reset the reminder that is part of the service schedule so you might want to ask them if they forgot anything else and if they will offer you anything for your inconvenience to secure your continued custom. etc etc

Cheers,
J
