If i remember correctly , i have seen this code cured by releasing the multiplug on the pump from the main wiring loom & spraying the pins / socket with wd40 and refitting . Release & refit the plug many times & it removes/ reduces any corrossion that leads to an incorrect signal to the ecu and the bloody warning light coming on & going off whenever it feels like it

I had a quick go at getting his plug undone but jeez that bugger was the tightest one I've seen yet! But you're right it's definitely worth a go.

Cheers Martin thanks for your help and advice. Its much appreciated.
You were right about the starter, I just didn't get round to sorting it. AA crappy reckoned not many people check voltage drop and replace batteries staters and alternatos to no avail so it was fortunate he came along when he did. I got to talk to him over the phone and relayed the info you gave me which put him on track to finding the fault. Glad I didn't have to replace the starter as it's in a sod of a location!!
