New XC90 owner slightly Worried
Hello All
Just purchased a 2004 XC90 2.4 D5 SE Diesel. Looking through past invoices etc, noticed that a new cylinder head, with ancilliaries had been fitted because of timing belt failure in August 2014. Then again in December 20`5 due to an auxilliary belt failure the timing was again disturbed resulting in another 2K+ bill. These events took place at 99k miles and 116Kmiles respectively. Could this have been due to poor quality belts being used?--is there any mod to be done/ Orcan I expect to shell out every 17k mies or so. Just wondered if any other members had experienced this problem and/or what precautions I might take. Grateful for any suggestions. Regards Pete |

Hello Pete,
