Default instruction for changing discs

Hi all!

A few weeks ago instructions for changing pads on an S60/XC70 were posted up, but does anyone have instructions for changing front and rear discs (S60)? The instructions I have do not cover changing the discs.

thanks in advance!

Is pretty easy really, once the caliper is off, remove the caliper holder (these bolts are threadlocked in so a bit of a pig to remove), then the small locating bolt, then if whoever fitted the disc did not use a smear of copper grease, whack the disc with a hammer harder than you think you should really be hitting a part of your car

The rears are pretty much the same as the front except you`ll (probably) need to slacken the handbrake right off.

Also you`ll need to bed the new discs in by pulling the handbrake whilst moving at 10-15 mph a couple of times until the handbrake actually works..

Here are the vadis instructions for what they are worth:

Have you really gotta remove the handbrake cover and slacken it to remove the discs? If you leave the handbrake off shouldnt there be enough slack?

vadis is the dealers dvd, contains lots of technical info on loads of different volvos, you can buy them off ebay, or download copies (I`m not sure how legal or otherwise these methods are )

I found that one side came off without slackening off the handbrake, but the other side needed it unwinding quite a bit, YMMV

Try it and see, the disc will be loose but wont come off..
