850 6 stack CD cassette
Chaps
Anybody have any of the above they want to get rid of ? I have just discovered Volvo rather unhelpfully knocked out 2 types when choosing the ( same ? ) Singaporean manufacturer during 850 production. I am looking for the 6 separate tray model which individually slide out of the cassette and NOT the fixed tray model which do not slide out of the cassette and instead gave a white corner tab which flicks the disc out. It of course goes without saying that the 2 are not interchangeable ! If any body wants the tab flip version I have 2 going gratis and a defunct CD player - not working of course ! |

Does it have to be a Volvo one? I noticed my friend had the same changer in his Freelander as I have in the 850, so I imagine other cars use it too. The units themselves wouldn't be interchangeable but surely the cassettes would.

That is interesting. Obs the CD players were made in Singapore by one of the leading manufacturers and " Volvo " stamped in white - so no it does not have to be Volvo. However it most certainly has to be the flip out version of the cassette cos despite the players looking identical the cassettes are not interchangeable ! Only discovered this when I bought last week - glad I took one of my cassettes ( forgot to take any discs though - mug ) so I knew where I stood at the point of purchase ! |
