head lining PV
Hi, how difficult is it to remove headlining and then refit later. Is it a job I should leave to the experts or tackle it myself? If I do it myself what are the pitfalls and what would be the best way to precede?

I don't want to replace the liner, just want to renew/re-fix the trim/windlace.
It's fastened with staples which have corroded and broken leaving the trim loose.

Is the head lining held in place in the area shown by some fixings or is it just tension that holds it in place. Would I be able to prise it away whilst fixing trim? Don't want to cause any damage. "fore warned is fore armed"

The headlining is held by spikes on the far side of the bar that it wraps around, between it and the windlace. The bars are bolted in place, but the bars holding the headlining behind the doors is welded on. If you release the headlining from around the rear window you should be able to tease the headlining out, above the rear side windows, then reach in and unbolt them.

Don't want to mess with the head liner if it's as described. Will have to find another way of fixing wind-lace above door area. Any suggestions?

The only thing I can suggest is to wedge it with a small piece of cloth folded to the required thickness.
