All enquiries at the time suggested a September delivery so I accepted that.
Having read here of software issues and other teething problems I'm wondering about the likelihood of my local Volvo dealer 'gladly' accepting all warranty work. No doubt Volvo UK say that owners can get service at any accredited service centre but does this work for a brand new car with issues? I suppose the correct approach is to thoroughly check the car and its systems at the 'distant' dealer and refuse to accept the car (returning home again if need be) if there are issues.
Perhaps I'm anticipating failure unnecessarily (!) but trying to be practical. What are others' experiences when buying from afar?
Cheers, Andy

My last XC90 was supplied via my insurance company (after my previous one was written off in a flood) from a dealer in Grimsby and delivered to me here in the North East, I just registered it with my local Volvo dealer for servicing etc, and they looked after me and my car no differently as though I had bought it from them, I had a three year service plan with the car as well from new so I was not even paying my dealer out of my own pocket, the service department of the large dealers are ran as a seperate business to the sales departments and they welcome any business.
I also bought a one year old LandRover from Scotland and did the same with my local LandRover dealer who were also very impressive and dealt with all warranty work with no questions asked.
