Heaters blowing cool air
The heaters in my car have started blowing cooler air irrespective of the temp setting on the dial. It is an ecc unit and happens when air con is on or off!!:o
Any pointers? |

RE: Heaters blowing cool air
There are two sensors, on my 1995 T5 they are above each front passenger by the grab handles. They are small fans and blow air over the sensors to read the temperature. They may be faulty. On a more expensive note, it could be the ECC control unit. On my car it was the small sensors that were faulty. I also seem to recall the technician saying that low gas in the system can cause this also.

RE: Heaters blowing cool air
Faults with the ECC will usually result in a fault code being logged, also the AC and recirc lights will flash for 20 secs when the ign. is switched on.
Does this happen? What Year is the car? |

RE: Heaters blowing cool air
Thanks for the replies.
My car is a late 94 T5. The ECC lights do flash occasionally and I think the reply from Bob about low gas in the system might be pertinant. I think I have a leak in the system as I had a re-gas this time last year and the air con has gradually lost effectiveness. Interesting about the fans blowing over the sensors though. |
