850 interior light won't go out

I have a 95 850 estate.
Recently the front passenger side interior light in the footwell (below the glove box) won't go out unless I give the door a really hard slam. It takes 4 or 5 attempts. There's no obvious switch in the door so I can't work out what triggers it.
Any clue as how to remedy this?

Switch is part of the door lock, try a good soak with WD40

Could this be a symptom of a very recent dealer service and over enthusiastic lubrication?

Volvo recomends quite hardly to use only Volvo Teflon lubricant on their locks (freezing problems, they say...).
