When foglights were first made mandatory in 1979, they all switched off when you went from dipped headlights to main beams.
You just took the feed from the dipped headlight circuit. This switch off was tested as part of the MoT too (at least where I used to live).

i was being sarcastic! sorry buddy.
i agree that it would make sense, and wouldn't be that difficult, but as with all aspects of car manufacturing, why bother doing something if its not absolutely necessary. |
