Default Volvo 740 Water pump

I'm about to fit a new water pump on my 1988 740, New pump comes with new gasket etc, I have a rubber seal left over, is it just a spare one as it doesn't look like it fits anywhere, Thanks, Tommy.

There are 2 'rubber seals' Tommy. An 'O' ring that goes into the top and a seal that fits on the metal heater pipe that goes in the back.

I have them Bob, but there was another one, a bit wider than the one that goes on the heater pipe, it must just be a spare, Cheers Bob.

Never had 2 like that in any kit I have had for a 240 or 740. Just the 'O' ring and one to fit the heater pipe. Maybe for some with a larger diameter pipe. Just sent u an email with more details for fitting.

Cheers, Bob

Anybody know precisely why these kits come with 2 different diameter washers/seals that go on the heater pipe? Different models, eg 740/760 have a different pipe size?

I assumed it was for the 16v head which used that instead of the shouldered o ring?
